All our staff receive training as to how we can assist customers with their needs but due to the age and design of our heritage cars, there is limited accessibility. Our friendly staff will help as much as they are allowed, but please bear in mind they cannot touch any personal belongings or do any heavy lifting.
Our visitor centre and all our stations offer step-free access with either level pavement or ramps. Pleas be aware there is a small gap between the train and the platform.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs can either be folded and taken with you. Due to the width and size of our car’s, unfolded wheelchairs do not fit on our trains.

If you are purchasing a return journey from Aquarium Station and coming straight back, you can leave your wheelchair at the end of the platform.

Mobility Scooters
Unfortunately, due to the limited access on our cars, Mobility Scooters cannot be taken on our trains.
If you are purchasing a return journey from Aquarium Station and coming straight back, you can leave your Mobility Scooter at the end of the platform.

Assistant Dogs
At Volk’s Electric Railway we welcome all dogs free of charge, all we ask is that you keep them on a lead.
